American Idol: Season 11, Week 6 :: The Final Judgment

After a whirlwind of late nights, difficult challenges and emotional eliminations, the judges have finally selected the top 24 contestants who will compete on the American Idol stage. On February 22, 2012, the judges revealed the first 14 contestants that have made it through, beginning with Jen Hirsh, who Randy dubbed one of the best singers of the season. Unfortunately, the judges said goodbye to undisputed favorites, like country singer Lauren Gray.

On February 23, 2012, the judges announced the final 10 contestants who will perform alongside the rest of the top 24 on the American Idol stage. There were some distressing eliminations, including the gentle giant Jermaine Jones, and 17-year-old ladies man David Leathers Jr.

In a final twist, the judges decided that they will bring back one of the eliminated boys to perform on the first live performance night - either Jermaine Jones, David Leathers Jr., Johnny Keyser or Richie Law.
