The Muppets on Blu-Ray and DVD

Mar 17, 2012

The Muppets head to your living room with the film’s release on DVD and Blu-ray, March 20, 1012.

About the Movie

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary and Gary’s girlfriend, Mary, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman to raze Muppet Studios and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the studio, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band, Miss Piggy is a plus-sized fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a clinic for anger managements and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. Can the crew overlook their differences once and for all?

Special Features

The Muppets is available on DVD and Blu-Ray March 20, 2012. The Blu-Ray and DVD Combo Pack includes a ton of special features, such as:

Many of the reviews and critics say it's bad because they are only looking at it from 'comic to movie' perspective. It was still a really cool movie and you should go see it. I'd have to agree with this. The movie itself was great. I think some people looked at it poorly because they were expecting something more similar to the older films or comparing it too hard to the comics. I personally think that it was a great way to reinvent some of the characters.

When I was a child, Peter Pan was a big one for me. And, Shaggy from Scooby-doo for some reason.

"It's so hard to talk when you want to k-ll yourself. That's above and beyond everything else, and it's not a mental complaint-it's a physical thing, like it's physically hard to open your mouth and make the words come out. They don't come out smooth and in conjunction with your brain the way normal people's words do; they come out in chunks as if from a crushed-ice dispenser; you stumble on them as they gather behind your lower lip. So you just keep quiet.” Ned Vizzini, "It's Kind of a Funny Story"

“Isn't there something in living dangerously?' There's a great deal in it,' the Controller replied. 'Men and women must have their adrenals stimulated from time to time.' What?' questioned the Savage, uncomprehending. It's one of the conditions of perfect health. That's why we've made the V.P.S. treatments compulsory.' V.P.S.?' Violent Passion Surrogate. Regularly once a month. We flood the whole system with adrenin. It's the complete physiological equivalent of fear and rage. All the tonic effects of murdering Desdemona and being murdered by Othello, without any of the inconvenience.' But I like the inconveniences.' We don't,' said the Controller. 'We prefer to do things comfortably.' But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.' In fact,' said Mustapha Mond, 'you're claiming the right to be unhappy. Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and impotent; the right to have ######## and cancer, the right to have too little to eat; the right to be lousy; the right to live in constant apprehension of what may happen tomorrow; the right to catch typhoid; the right to be tortured by unspeakable pains of every kind.' There was a long silence. I claim them all,' said the Savage at last. Mustapha Mond shrugged his shoulders. 'You're welcome,' he said.”

"There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there."
