The Vampire Diaries: Season 3, Episode 17 :: Break on Through

Mar 23, 2012

This week on The Vampire Diaries (Season 3, Episode 17), Damon seduces Rebekah and Alaric continues his strange behavior. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “Break on Through”, which aired March 22, 2012, to discover what you missed.

Caroline and Bonnie are helping Bonnie’s mom Abby adjust to life as a vampire. She is in the transitioning stage, so she needs lots of blood. Meanwhile, Abby’s adopted son Jamie is pulling away because he is afraid of vampires. Caroline tells him he has nothing to be afraid of, but then Abby unexpectedly attacks him. This makes Abby even more depressed than before, and she decides to leave town and abandon Bonnie.

Triangle Trouble

After last week’s introduction, Sage appears in Mystic Falls and gets involved in a messy triangle with Damon and Rebekah. Sage wants to find Finn, the guy who was her one true love, but turned her into a vampire. Rebekah wants to find the white oak tree, and Damon wants to find out what Rebekah is up to.

Damon and Sage decide to team up to get what they want by making Rebekah jealous. They invite her over for a party, and then make her desperate for Damon’s attention. While Rebekah is fully involved, Sage gets into her head and sees what she is up to. She then tells Damon that Rebekah knows there is another white oak tree that can kill her and the rest of the Originals. Damon finds an old sign that is made from wood of the oak tree. Will this be the trick to killing Klaus?

Blackout

Alaric’s evil side becomes even clearer this week. The doctors do a ton of tests to see what is causing the blackouts, but everything comes back normal. Even though Meredith still believes Alaric is the killer, she also has feelings for him. While they are hanging out, he blacks out and then attacks her in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Elena and Stefan team up to try to explain Alaric’s strange behavior. They find a drawer full of pictures from his victims. The drawer also has a letter for Jeremy, telling him he must continue on Alaric’s work if he dies, since he has the other ring. This worries Elena, since she sent Jeremy away to stay out of trouble.

Oml, I remember when I first saw the song title of that on YouTube. XD I couldn't stop laughing for like an hour. That is such a weird song title. It sounds a bit naïve to me, honestly. FroyoYOLO... Like what even? Granted though, I've never heard the song or even seen much but seconds of the show..."InternetOwl" wrote:Liv and Maddie is a corny show in itself, tbh. But yeah, it is a bit.
