The Vampire Diaries: Season 3, Episode 18 :: The Murder of One

Mar 29, 2012

This week on The Vampire Diaries (Season 3, Episode 18), the entire vampire lineage is at stake. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “The Murder of One”, which aired March 29, 2012, to discover what you missed.

Cursed

A few weeks ago we learned that all of the Original vampires were bound together by their mother’s curse. This means that if one of them dies, they all will. Damon, Stefan and Elena want to use this to their advantage. And, since Damon found a sign made from a certain white oak tree, they have a chance to get rid of Klaus, Rebekah and the others for good. They turn the sign into a bunch of stakes and make a plan.

Tortured

Meanwhile, Klaus wants to return to Mystic Falls to find Bonnie, and he needs Finn to go with him. When they get there, Sage and Finn are reunited. Rebekah is still not happy with Sage and Damon after they tricked her last episode. She captures Damon and tortures him, slowly draining his blood. If she can get all of the vervain out of him, she can compel him. Once the vervain is gone, Klaus compels Damon into telling him how many stakes there are. But, he says he will let them live if they bring him all of them.

Staked

Klaus locates Bonnie and asks her to break the spell that binds the Originals together. She obviously says no, but he threatens her until she finally agrees. But, the rest of the gang doesn’t know the spell will be broken, and they are still trying to kill one Original in the hopes of destroying them all. Stefan decides to target Finn, and he attacks him when he is leaving the diner.

Sage is furious, and wants revenge. But, just as she steps into the Salvatore house she slowly starts to spit up blood, and then she dies. So does her sidekick. Turns out, if an Original dies, every vampire that is part of their blood line (ie. Has been turned by them, or by someone who was turned by them) will also be killed. This is bad news, because it essentially means all of the vampires will be wiped out, including Stefan, Damon, Tyler and Caroline.

Once Damon is released, he meets up with Alaric to get his stake. But, Alaric must have had an episode because the stake is gone from its hiding place. This means the “evil” Alaric has it hidden somewhere. What will he do with it?
