Gossip Girl: Season 5, Episode 23 :: The Fugitives

The Murderer
Even though Chuck just found out that his dad, Bart, is alive, their reunion is short-lived. Bart must make himself scarce before the man who was trying to have him killed years ago discovers that he only faked his death. But Chuck isn’t ready to say goodbye. He hatches a plan with his friends to set the would-be murderer up. But the actual murderer is not who they think. One of Bart’s business rivals hired Chuck’s private investigator to do the dirty work. With Chuck’s clever cunning, the police overhear his admission of guilt.
The Imposter
Meanwhile, Blair agrees to spend the summer in Rome with Dan during his writers’ retreat. But first they must pass a routine interview to show that their relationship is emotionally stable. Unfortunately, Blair gets tied up with Chuck’s problem and sends Serena to pose as Blair for the interview. Luckily, Serena pulls it off, but not without having to admit to Dan that Blair was with Chuck.
The Diary
Everything seems perfectly resolved by the end of the episode. That is until the real Gossip Girl springs back into action by sending out a blast that contains a passage from Blair’s diary stating her true feelings for Chuck. And where did Gossip Girl get this juicy tidbit? Why, Blair’s BFF of course: Serena.
