Glee: Season 3, Episode 19 :: Prom-a-saurus

May 08, 2012

This week on Glee (Season 3, Episode 19), it’s time for prom! Read Kidzworld’s recap of “Prom-a-saurus”, which aired May 8, 2012, to find out what you missed!

Dance like a Dinosaur

It’s time for prom at McKinley High. Since Brittany is class president, she gets to set the theme. She turns down stairway to heaven and castles in the sky for a very unique prom theme: dinosaurs. To make things worse, she bans hair gel for the evening!

Anti-Prom Party

Rachel is her usual jealous self, still upset about last week’s auditions and her lack of Prom Queen nomination. Her and Kurt decide to throw an anti-prom party, but no one shows up. After Finn shows up and convinces Rachel to come to prom, they all head back to the school.

Prom Court

The votes are in, and the nominees for prom court are Brittany, Quinn, Santana, Finn and some guy we haven’t heard of before. Quinn tries to win over the sympathy vote, by telling everyone how much she envies their ability to dance at the prom. But, the truth is, her legs have been getting stronger, with the help of Joe.

Santana and Quinn look at the final votes, and see that Quinn won. But, when the winner is announced, it turns out to be Rachel! What happened? Turns out, Quinn and Santana decided Rachel needed the win more than them, and tampered with the ballots.

Set List

  • ‘Dinosaur’ by Kesha
  • ‘Take My Breath Away’ by Berlin
  • ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ by One Direction
  • ‘Love You Like a Love Song’ by Selena Gomez
  • ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ by Fergie

It included a lot of mature themes and it really connects with today's older youth. You mean violence wise? Not just that, but the show tells the stories of the characters finding themselves. Take Asami for example. A lot of people have a late relative and another relative involved in some kind of trouble. She had her relationships AND family business to take care of, which relates to some of today's youth who feel like they have the whole world on their shoulders. They're starting to have to take responsibility for things they can hardly manage, and seeing the triumph of a character like Asami is truly inspiring. Her mother's dead, her father's in prison, her boyfriend was stolen from her, and her business nearly failed. But she did not give up, which sends a positive message to today's generation of teens. Mako was not stolen from Asami he just chose Korra and everyone knows that thats what people wanted. As messed up as that sounds its the truth.
