Pretty Little Liars: Season 3, Episode 5::That Girl is Poison
This week on Pretty Little Liars (Season 3, Episode 5), Jenna reveals to the whole world she can see again and throws an extravagant birthday party – conveniently on the same day that Garrett is allowed out of prison to see his sick mother. Jail Break
Hanna is still mourning her recent break with Caleb, and as Spencer, Aria and Emily head toward her place they see Garrett’s mother being taken out of her house on a stretcher – and Aria spots a hooded figure! Rosewood is abuzz with the news that Garrett will be let out to see his sick mother, and that’s not all that has tongues wagging – Jenna has revealed she can see, and invites everyone to a big birthday bash at The Brew (Emily’s new workplace). The girls are certain that it can’t be a mistake that the party and Garrett’s release are on the same night.
While Garrett is getting out of lockdown, Aria spots Lucas locked out of a photography studio, banging on the outside demanding his negatives. Hanna is relegated to wearing sweatpants and skips school out of sheer sadness, but when her mother figures it out she signs up Hanna up for triple duty at a clothing drive in church.
Trouble “Brew”in’
Emily reaches out to Paige and invites her to see the new Katy Perry movie, and perhaps to take another stab at a relationship, but her plans are derailed when her boss at The Brew insists she work Jenna’s party. While getting ready Paige stumbles across her flask, and after the night she can’t remember Emily urges her to take it, insisting she wants nothing to do with it anymore.
Jenna and her photographer Laurel are pre-planning the party when Maya’s cousin Nate storms in furious about the situation with Garrett, however once Emily is out of the scene Jenna quickly puts the moves on him.
Sorting through the clothes at the drive Hanna stumbles across something interesting: Emily’s jacket from the night at Ali’s graveside, the one they were all sure they got rid of! She gets caught stuffing the jacket in her purse by the volunteer coordinator Ted, who incidentally has the hots for Mrs. Marin, and offers to buy it instead.
Negative Reactions
Aria figures out that Lucas was Jenna’s photographer’s assistant and purposely drags Ezra (who just bought her an incredibly expensive vintage camera) to Jenna’s party where she sabotages the party photos in order to get into the photographer’s studio and steal his bag!
At the party Paige feels she’s being ignored by Emily and hits the flask hard, causing a scene and eventually ending up at the hospital where it’s revealed the flask wasn’t just full of alcohol but also sleeping pills that cause memory loss – and guess what Aria finds in Lucas’ bag? More of the same pills!
Spencer vetoed going to party and instead goes to snoop on Garrett, she’s sure that he’s trying to communicate with someone, and when they all meet at the hospital to see paige she sees that the card Garrett left with his flowers just express sympathy – but wait! When she looks under Garrett’s mother’s medical bracelet she sees a different message altogether: April Rose has the proof.
