The Glee Project Season 2 Review
The Glee Project returns with a second season, inviting 14 new contestants over last season’s 12 to compete for a guest starring role on season 4 of FOX’s hit show Glee. Kidzworld has the scoop.
Following last year’s format, the contestants are given a weekly theme, such as “theatricality” or “sexuality.” During that week, they must perform a song for a mentor from the show, and then later record a song and music video that corresponds to that theme. The three contestants who are the least successful that week must perform last chance performances for producer Ryan Murphy and the other judges. By the end of the night, one contestant will be sent home.
Last year, Ryan announced two winners (Damien McGinty Jr. and Samuel Larsen) and two secondary winners (Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell). Could this season turn out four new guest stars as well? Since many of the seniors have moved on from the show - main characters like Rachel, Finn and Kurt - there will undoubtedly be room for some new faces to step into the spotlight. What makes him a unique Gleek: he’s a hottie with lots of talents including singing, acting, juggling, drums, and selling parrots.
- Charlie (22) – Chicago, IL
What makes him a unique Gleek: he struggles with severe ADHD and low-spectral autism.
- Dani (23) – Orlando, FL
What makes her a unique Gleek: her androgynous style has dubbed her a Justin Bieber look-a-like. But she’s also a self-taught singer, songwriter and guitar player.
- Lily Mae (18) - Cape Cod, MA
What makes her a unique Gleek: she’s been singing all her life and is determined to show the world that a full-figured woman can be the star of the show.
- Mario (24) – Lanham, MD
What makes him a unique Gleek: he was born with Morning Glory Syndrome causing him to go blind at age 9. Nonetheless, he can still do things that many people can’t like sing, act, and play many instruments.
- Maxfield (22) – Nashville, TN
What makes him a unique Gleek: he wears a promise ring to remind himself to treat all women with respect. Hmm.
- Michael (18) – Chicago, IL
What makes him a unique Gleek: he’s hot and he loves calculus. Seems like an oxymoron, doesn’t it?! Oh, and he’s also a well-traveled, highly-experienced performer.
- Nellie (19) – Tacoma, WA
What makes her a unique Gleek: she sings for a local swing band, and is the youngest member by 20 years!
- Shanna (21) – Auburn, AL
What makes her a unique Gleek: she’s an athlete, band geek and performer!
- Taryn (22) – Detroit, MI

- Tyler (21) – Boca Raton, FL
What makes him a unique Gleek: he’s still adapting to his new life as a transgender 21-year-old. And he has an amazing voice to boot!
