America's Next Top Model College Edition: Cycle 19, Episode 2 :: The Girl Who Cries Home

Jul 17, 2018

This week on America's Next Top Model (Cycle 19, Episode 2), guest photographer Shenae Grimes joins the girls on set of their first photo shoot where they pose as taxidermy. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “The Girl Who Cries Home,” which aired on August 31, 2012, to discover what you missed.

Changes to This Season

There are so many new things about this cycle of ANTM. Tyra stopped by the Top Model house to give them a rundown of a few more changes. Because it’s a college edition, the girls will be graded on a points system for everything they do. The points will have an effect on who goes home. Not only that but there’s a new room in the house - the Tyra Suite. Each week's challenge winner will get to pick a friend and spend the week in the luxurious suite with full access to the fashion closet complete with designer clothes and accessories. In addition, the challenge winner will receive a $10,000 deposit into her scholarship fund which she can only cash if she wins ANTM.

The Challenge

For this week’s challenge, their new judge Rob Evans took the girls to a swanky Hollywood club where they had to strut their stuff on the runway. Unfortunately, the walks came off more silly than serious, with some looking more like amateur strippers than amateur models. Ultimately, the prize went to plus-size model Yvonne.

The Photo Shoot

At their photo shoot, the girls posed as animal heads, photographed by 90210’s Shenae Grimes. Some girls struggled to bring diversity and intensity to their expressions. But that was the challenge, as they didn’t have dynamic body positions to save the day.

Elimination

At panel, the judges critiqued each of the girls photos by offering a score out of 10. Fans had their say through votes and by sending in videos. Jessie received the lowest score and was eliminated.
