Madden NFL 13: Playstation 3 Game Review
Time to jump into a new football season with Madden NFL 13! Check our game review for the full details!
Sometimes there is nothing like relaxing on the sofa and catching the Sunday football game with some friends. Every year, the people behind EA Sports brings Madden NFL closer to that experience. This year's entry is no different. With improved presentation and even ad libbing commentary, Madden NFL 13 lets you get that Sunday game feeling whenever you want.
A Whole New Ball Game
There are enough big changes in Madden NFL 13 to make you want to toss last year's game away. There are receiver icons now that show you if a player is looking for the ball or not. When you do pass, there are 25 new pass trajectories that you can put on the ball. You can choose to put the ball in front of your target and force them to reach for it or put it above the receiver and get them to jump for it.
Just like receivers, defensive backs will now also need to see the ball before they will try to knock it down. While this might make passes easier to connect, the computer AI is smart enough to start rushing you if you do only passes for every play. In order to succeed in this new Madden game, you will need to think hard and fast on the field.
Prime Time Game
Madden NFL 13 uses a new physics engine that allows for realistic looking tackles and other collisions. Weight, speed, and angle will affect how a hit looks. While there may be some awkwardness, the animation overall is very good. The presentation of the game also helps to make the whole experience more realistic. Expect lots of replays, an interactive crowd, primetime intros, and better commentary. Overall, this year's Madden is definitely worth picking up.
ESRB Rating: E for Everyone
