Dear Dish-It: I'm Afraid of Performing in Public

Crazy asks: I love to dance and all but I'm afraid of dancing and singing in public. I can never build up the confidence to do the things I love in public. Is there something wrong for me or is it natural? Back to Article

I'm not afraid to perform in public. Just remember that it does not madder what people think of you its what you think of yourself.

I also have another way that may make you less scared. Find one person in the audience, boyfriend/girlfriend, mom, dad, grandparent, best-friend, ext, and think they are the only person watching you look only at them and only think they are here for you. (f.y.i. make sure you think of a person that would not put you down because if they put you down you might get more nervous.) Good luck with preforming. And remember always do your best no matter what.

It is totally natural to be afraid to preform in public. I am 14 and when I was 3 I started to dance. I was soooo terrified my first performance, but my teacher told me to think of everyone in their underwear and you will think you are the only person who is not weird and u will not be as scared. Its a rather silly thing to do but it works.

Crazy: You are not weird. I love singing and performing on piano, but I am afraid what people will think xD. I have now thought, who cares what people think? Be you. We are all beautiful in our own way!

Dear Crazy: your not alone! You should see me when I have a dance lesson at school, i'm a nervous wreck! don't worry about people thinking your weird, most people don't like performing in public. you could try what I did, which is to do small things with some of my mates first, to get used to it, and then do a couple of solos. hope this helps. big luv! xxx

my parents are prolly like a 5 i mean i dont have chores or anything but i cant stay at my friends house unless theyve met the parents and have known them for a while. I also cant just leave the house and go for a walk or anything even if i have a phone.

Ive noticed everyone is trying to be "country" or "redneck" all of sudden. I just dont get it i mean im dating a redneck but the difference is hes a real redneck, hes lived in the country and knows how to ride a horse and fish. But alot of people nowadays are trying to say their country or redneck because they listen to bands like "Florida Georgia line" and i just dont understand it, its not a fashion statement its a lifestyle. What are your opinions on it?

My parents are about an 8. I put a lot of care and effort into my schoolwork, so they'd only take away my privileges (phone, internet, DS) if I wasn't trying. But, I give it my all, and behave in general, so they're pretty easy. However, I knew this girl in home and careers class last year who got her phone taken away because her grade point average was 3.4 instead of 3.66.
