That's One Expensive Horse
Chuck and Blair continue their digging into the secret that caused Art Bass to fake his own death. It leads them to a horse show outside of a Manhattan in pursuit of one horse in particular - Lady Alexander - which was sold to Art for one million dollars. They are joined by Lily, who intercepted their departure to the horse show and decided to tag along. But sneaky Art catches on to Chuck's investigation and shows up at the horse show. When Chuck sees how much Lady Alexander's former owner likes Art - even dubbing him "Uncle Art" - he knows he won't get any more information out of her.
Luckily, Blair isn't ready to give up. She tells the girl that Art didn't put her beloved horse on a farm where she could grow old and pass in peace like he promised. His purchase of the horse was obviously a cover up for something else. She told her that Chuck isn't the bad guy, Art is. Later, the girl shows up at Chuck's apartment and informs him that his father was in the oil business. Law prohibits the US to trade oil with her country, which means that if Art was using the horses to cover up the purchase of oil, he was breaking Federal law. It would certainly explain why he had to fake his own death in order to get away with it.
Like Mother, Like Daughter
Meanwhile, Serena, Steven, Sage and Dan all attend the horse show as well. Steven takes the opportunity to get to know Dan a little better. But since Dan's been printing gossip pieces about Lily van der Woodsen, an unfortunate truth comes out: Steven has slept with both Serena and her mother Lily. Gross!
Georgina is determined to put a stop to Dan's random hook ups, so she schedules him interviews with elite celeb-style girls who will create good press for him. Unfortunately, these type of girls aren't Dan's type and he's not willing to play along for long.
