Science Project: How to Stack Liquids

The liquid state is a state of matter where molecules move freely. This free movement means that they tend to fill any container they are placed in and mix without restriction. So if liquids are easy mixers, how in the world do you stack them? Back to Article

According to their density in what order will these liquids stack? Start with the heaviest and go to the lightest.

  • Lamp oil, Gatorade, honey, molasses
  • Molasses, honey, Gatorade, lamp oil
  • Honey, Gatorade, Molasses, lamp oil
  • All these liquids have the same density, so they will mix together
