What to Wear: Summer Party Style

May 30, 2013

Summer parties are joyous opportunities to have fun, eat potato salad, hot dogs and ice cream and show off your warm weather style of course! It's the season everyone waits for all year so you want to get out there and soak up the sun rather than stand in front of your closet trying to decide what to wear. Get ready to hog the spotlight with some style-setting outfits and dresses that are sure to be a hit whether you're going to a barbecue, pool party, backyard party or a summer festival!

Summer Style Tips

When you're hanging out at a summer BBQ or house party, a pair of vintage-look shorts paired with a printed t-shirt paired with pink lipstick will give you an effortless yet retro cool look! Coordinate with a classic pair of sweet sandalsand oversized cat-eye sunglasses and you've got an effortlessly cool party look.

If you're going to a wedding, be dressed to impress with a floaty dress in a bright shade like canary yellow or cobalt blue. Add some gold hoop earrings and a clutch bag for a touch of elegance and you're ready to dance.

For your next pool party, wear a cute playsuit over a bikini or swimsuit and pair with flip flops and a big floppy sunhat and instantly amp up the glam factor! A pair of statement sunglasses show that you know your style stuff.

Have your say

This is going to sound completely cliche, but the best thing is to just be yourself. You'll make friends no problem. People can tell when you're being genuine or not, and they definitely appreciate you for who you are more than if you tried to be someone else. You got this, it'll be a fun and exciting experience. :)

On a typical day I wear a pair of ripped jeans and either a hoodie or jacket, and a snapback. The opposite would probably be a dress lmao.

I also love expensive clothing. Brand names are my thing. But I always shop either during sale times or at second hand stores. Sales are my best friend, honestly. It might be frustrating to wait, but it's worth it in the end. Shop only on sale racks in big stores, and scout out smaller second hand stores that often carry brand names, never worn, but for a cheaper price.
