Trend: Fun Slouchy Summer Pants

Jun 28, 2013

As much as we all love our denim, when summer weather arrives, it's just too hot to rock those skinny jeans. You don't have to wear shorts, dresses or skirts all the time to beat the heat and look cool. Slouchy summer pants are an easy way to update your wardrobe this summer and they're so comfy they almost feel like sweatpants (but look ultra stylish). Flirty, fun and comfortable, slouchy pants are perfect for working a casual summer look.

Push your style boundaries by going for bold prints, bright colors and flowy pants that you normally wouldn't think twice about wearing. Summer is about experimenting with fashion! As much as we love skinny jeans, we have to admit it can get a bit boring. And we have to admit - skinny jeans and leggings can get uncomfortable. Infinitely more stylish than sweatpants, slouchy summer pants are an effortlessly way to change up your look. Check out our picks for comfy, slouchy summer pants that don't skimp on style points!

Style Tips

1. Wearing slouchy summer pants doesn't mean you have to look like a slouch! Balance your baggy pants with a top that's a bit more fitted - you don't want to look like you're wearing actual pajamas

2. Keep it simple! Wear your slouchy pants with sleek and simple shoes. If there are too many straps or embellishments, it won't look as good. Think two-strap sandals or simple flat shoes with no distracting details.

3. Don't be afraid to experiment with patterns and prints! If you wear some slouchy printed pants - don't be afraid to match it with a coordinating top. Just make sure the colors are in the same tone.

4. If you can't let go of your denim - try slouchy boyfriend style jeans or denim slouchy pants in a lighter fabric. If you go for a shorter cropped length in a light blue wash, pair with pale pastels and sandals for an effortlessly cool summer look

Spacekitty14: I understand your situation. I have family members who have varying degrees of autism. I understand that it seems unfair to you that more attention goes to your brothers, but you have to remember that they didn't ask for this. They probably don't want to deal with the problems that they are facing. As far as giving up certain types of food, those are just sacrifices that a lot of people have to make. Just try to learn more about their condition and see what you can do to help, then you won't have to feel "left out" or "ignored" by your parents. Just be patient and understand the situation. I hope that all goes well for you and your family

Both of my brothers have autism. I am 12 and a girl. I also have a 3 y/o sister. It always seems like my parents pay more attention to them then me. I don't want to tell them about it because they will think I'm being selfish. But i can't do ANYTHING fun. My little brother is allergic to half the ingredients in most candies, so I can never go trick-or-treating. And I have not had eggs since I was 3. I always have to do everything by myself. How do I deal with this?
