Why Cheerleading is Lame!

Cheerleading stunts, drills and uniforms are lame.

Gimme an L! Gimme an A! Gimme an M and an E! Whatta you got? A word that describes cheerleading, that's what. Here are few reasons why cheerleaders, and cheerleading, are totally lame.

Snob Factor

For some reason, cheerleaders seem to think they're special, just because they cheer for the football team. What's so cool about cheering for someone else? Wearing a dorky uniform and forming a pyramid really isn't that special and it certainly doesn't give them a reason to think they're better than everyone else at school.

Lame Brains

Let's face it, the average cheerleader is about as intelligent as the football team's water cooler. Most of their cheers involve counting to three or screaming out lame sentences like "Go, team, go!" They know lots about fixing their hair but after that, there's a big drop off.

They Get in the Way

Cheerleaders' lame stunts and annoying laughs just make it harder for people watching the game to concentrate on the action on the field. It's like trying to play video games while your mom's vacuuming in front of the TV. Most of the time cheerleaders aren't even paying attention to what's going on in the game anyway. I've heard cheerleaders yelling, "S-C-O-R-E," when their team doesn't even have the ball. If cheerleaders insist on showing up to games, they should S-H-U-T U-P.

Stupid Stunts

What's the deal with waving pom-poms and forming pyramids? Thousands of school cheerleaders are injured each year trying to build pyramids or pull off other lame stunts. When the Egyptians made the Pyramids at Giza, that was cool. When a bunch of fluffy-brained girls try to form a pyramid by awkwardly standing on top of each other, that's not cool.

  • OK, cheerleading is so great, I'm a straight a student and still a cheerleader, I'm a flyer - which is the person that goes up and I've been dropped so many times and broken over 5 different major bones in my body, but I'm still a cheerleader bcuz I love what I do, so unless u have enough courage to do what I do, I wouldn't be saying crap about cheerleading.

Alright, I don't know who wrote this, but I think you are totally wrong and your article is offensive. I'm not a cheerleader and have never been involved in it but I have watched it. I think it IS a true sport. A lot of them are really dedicated and some are snobbish and don't pay attention to the game but real cheerleaders deserve respect! It is something that teaches you balance and gives you a good workout.

I think some cheer leaders are very snobby and think they're better than everyone else. Some are very smart and nice. I have some friends who are cheerleaders and they're very cool. At my school you have to be smart to be in the sqaud.

I think that everything in this article is very offensive to all cheerleaders. It is not lame and it even builds self confidence and determination. Plus at my school we get respect from our school and we give respect back. About the snobby thing, usually the snobby girl doesn't make the sqaud because she thinks she's going to have instant popularity and isn't dedicated, so only the dedicated ones make the squad.

I think cheerleading is a goofy sport! Why? Because they think because they can ride with the players that they can do whatever they want. Some of them aren't even school spirited. Most of the regular students do more than the cheerleaders. I know that you have to stay in shape in all but they try to get too skinny. They think they can just walk into a party and think everyone is supposed to know them because they are on the "SQUAD".
