Nicholas Caradoc Hoult was born December 7th 1989 in Wokingham, Berkshire in England. His mother Glenis is a piano teacher and his father is pilot for British Airways.He has three siblings, Clarista, James and Rosanna. Always interested in acting Nicholas had small roles on TV as a kid, but got his big break when he landed the role of Marcus in the hit Hugh Grant movie About A Boy, all about the friendship between a rich bachelor and a school kid in search of answers. Nicholas immediately got recognition as a talent to watch out for was even nominated for Best Young Actor at the Young Artist Awards for his performance.

Small Screen to Silver Screen

Although to American audiences it may seem as if Nicholas disappeared after that, he actually had roles on TV shows like Skins in Britain. He appeared in Tom Ford's film A Single Man alongside Colin Firth and Julianne Moore, and has started starring in fun fantasy and comic block busters like Beast in X-Men: First Class in 2010, the zombie romantic comedy Warm Bodies and as Jack in Jack the Giant Slayer (based on Jack and the Beanstalk of course!)

Did You Know...

  • Nicholas Hoult and actress Jennifer Lawrence met on the set of X-Men: First Class and dated from 2010 until their split in 2013 (looks like they stayed good pals though, because they're still spotted out and about together a lot!)

Alright let me start out by saying that, I do not think you should be forced to like anime. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions out what they watch. But their is some bogus reason to why people say they hate it. 1. "Anime is For Kids" - Alright we all know this isn't true. Sure some are directed towards kids but ones like Tokyo Ghoul, Attack On Titan, Boku no Pico, and several others that would definitely change people's mind. 2. "Anime is a bad influence" - And Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Walking Dead arent?  3. "Anime has very inappropriate messages to them that are harmful to children and adults" - Doesnt everything have their little "parodies" of the original that may have a rating of Triple X? If its out there, there is a "parody" of it. Not just anime.
