Pretty Little Liars: Season 4, Episode 12:: Now You See Me, Now You Don't

Aug 28, 2013

This week on the summer finale of Pretty Little Liars, Red Coat comes to the rescue and Ravenswood is introduced. Find out what you missed in the Kidzworld Recap of "Now You See Me, Now You Don't" which aired August 27th, 2013.

Package For You

The summer season finale of PLL answered some questions about A, Red Coat, and even Ravenswood! Hold on to your seats fans, this one was a doozy. Usually mail is something to look forward to, but not on this show - A develped a new tactic this week, shipping large brown paper packages to the liars that contain Magic 8 Balls saying that they'll be hearing from A if Ashley goes free - which she does with Travis' testimony. No time to celebrate for the Marins, the next package contains a doll size coffin with a mini-Mona inside. The clock is ticking and the girls have to find Mona before the blame gets pinned on them again. As if that isn't enough, Aria has dreamy Jake by her side, but all she can think of is Ezra. Seeking him out the two share a kiss, but not unnoticed, Red Coat is watching!

Entering Ravenswood

The next package arrives at the Hastings house - a giant saw, the girls figure out that they have to go to Ravenswood to see the Great Charlemagne's magic show, but once they're at the show they realize A is using them as the props! The magician pulls Aria on stage, but in a twist, it's Emily who goes missing. Ems wakes up stuck in a coffin, and heading for a saw, but can the girls save her? They can with the help of Red Coat (unexpected right?) who turns off the saw just in time. Aria chases CeCe down,  but at the last minute she escapes her grasp.

A is for Alive

Spencer takes the liars to an amazing discovery - A's lair. Full timelines of everything that have ever happened on the show plaster the walls, and a giant plice monitor. Kind of explains how A's always a step ahead, huh? In the timelines the liars discover that A is actually after Red Coat, and has plans to find Alison at a party that night. Alison might be alive after all! Leaving the apartment the girls bump into Mrs. Grunwald who admits to lying about knowing Ali and that she knew Alison didn't want to be found. The liars decide to sneak into the party to find Ali themselves.

The biggest surprise is saved for last though, we see a tall man dressed in black standing in A's lair - and it's none other than Ezra! Sorry, Aria, we knew a BF that great was too good to be true. As the magic show ends we see #EzrA flash on the screen.

Many of the reviews and critics say it's bad because they are only looking at it from 'comic to movie' perspective. It was still a really cool movie and you should go see it. I'd have to agree with this. The movie itself was great. I think some people looked at it poorly because they were expecting something more similar to the older films or comparing it too hard to the comics. I personally think that it was a great way to reinvent some of the characters.

"It's so hard to talk when you want to k-ll yourself. That's above and beyond everything else, and it's not a mental complaint-it's a physical thing, like it's physically hard to open your mouth and make the words come out. They don't come out smooth and in conjunction with your brain the way normal people's words do; they come out in chunks as if from a crushed-ice dispenser; you stumble on them as they gather behind your lower lip. So you just keep quiet.” Ned Vizzini, "It's Kind of a Funny Story"

“Isn't there something in living dangerously?' There's a great deal in it,' the Controller replied. 'Men and women must have their adrenals stimulated from time to time.' What?' questioned the Savage, uncomprehending. It's one of the conditions of perfect health. That's why we've made the V.P.S. treatments compulsory.' V.P.S.?' Violent Passion Surrogate. Regularly once a month. We flood the whole system with adrenin. It's the complete physiological equivalent of fear and rage. All the tonic effects of murdering Desdemona and being murdered by Othello, without any of the inconvenience.' But I like the inconveniences.' We don't,' said the Controller. 'We prefer to do things comfortably.' But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.' In fact,' said Mustapha Mond, 'you're claiming the right to be unhappy. Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and impotent; the right to have ######## and cancer, the right to have too little to eat; the right to be lousy; the right to live in constant apprehension of what may happen tomorrow; the right to catch typhoid; the right to be tortured by unspeakable pains of every kind.' There was a long silence. I claim them all,' said the Savage at last. Mustapha Mond shrugged his shoulders. 'You're welcome,' he said.”
