Nintendo Announces the 2DS!

Aug 30, 2013

Nintendo reveals its newest hand-held system to the world, the Nintendo 2DS! Keep reading Kidzworld's preview for more info!

A More Affordable Alternative

In a nutshell, the Nintendo 2DS is an entry level version of the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system. It plays all 3DS games but in 2D only and will be available this October 12th, for $129.00 (US). October 12th just so happens to be the day Pokemon X & Y come out as well.

The Nintendo 2DS features most of the same features as its big brother. Dual screens, button layout, online multiplayer and touch screen are just as they are on 3DS. 2DS is also backwards compatible with thousands of Nintendo DS games, giving it an incredible library right from the get-go for newcomers. The biggest change in the systems design comes in the lack of a flip-screen. The new 2DS hand-held is now more like a tablet with a sleek and sturdy, angular design.

Colors and Cases

The Nintendo 2DS will be available in two colors at launch, Blue or Red. Not only that but there will be optional carrying cases available, which feature a zip-up pocket.
