Veronica Mars DVD Review

Veronica Mars DVD Review - Reviewed by Kidzworld on May 14, 2013

Veronica Mars stars Kristen Bell as a former high-school sleuth who thought she left her past behind her, until a murder in her home town pulls her back into her old life. Read Kidzworld's review of the all new DVD!

Veronica Mars (Bell) has put Neptune and her amateur sleuthing days behind her on the eve of graduating law school. While interviewing at high-end law firms, Veronica gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan (Dohring) who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don’t seem right with how Logan’s case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself being pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind.

The Bottom Line

The Veronica Mars movie made headlines before it ever started filming as an almost entirely fan crowd-funded project on Kickstarter. Despite having an incredibly loyal fan base, the show was cancelled years ago, but die-hard "Marshmallows" (fans of the show) pressured the studio, and amazingly they were able to snag almost the entire cast and pick up with the characters and where they would be years later. Producer Rob Thomas started the campaign hoping fans would want to see some of those season finale cliffhangers answered - and they did! They raised 2 million dollars on the first day , the rest was history.

Having the fans fund the movie was not only a first, it meant that the producers were only responsible to the fans and not a studio - and that may account for the success of the movie. Luckily for all viewers, the movie is a good old fanshioned mystery, and you don't need to be a fan to follow it or enjoy it. Veronica is a character that can win over anyone, with her combo of smarts, sarcasm and sass. The DVD contains one great special feature, the hour long documentary "By The Fans: The Making of the Veronica Mars Movie," which tells all about this groundbreaking kickstarter campaign (this one might only be of interest to super fans though!)

Hi there! I am Rose, (If you have somehow not seen me around so far) an avid writer and roleplayer here on KW. I've recently realized that I love critique. It's one of my favorite things to do and receive. And not so recently, I realized there's a lot of OCs that need improvement out there.  Like a lot. It's kind of scary. So I've decided to start reviewing these OCs, both the good and the bad. But as always, I have some standards.  I will review OCS from these fandoms: Dr. Who Undertale Danganronpa RWBY  Soul Eater Warrior Cats Hunger Games Divergent Harry Potter Vocaloid Black Butler MLP (Yes I am a bit of a closet brony shh don't tell anyone) Ava's Demon (Although I doubt anyone knows what this is) Percy Jackson Adventure Time Steven Universe Gravity Falls 99% of Disney Attack On Titan Touhou Avatar (The four elements and stuff not the weird blue people.) Pokemans Original Works Ask me if I review anything that isnt on this list. But before people start freaking out, I do not review LOTR, Supernatural, Narnia, or Sherlock.  Please put your character in an RP style form including name, personality, backstory, and any fandom specific info. If your character is in one of the fandoms listed go ahead and post right away. I will respond ASAP with how you can improve your OC and a general rating. Be prepared for criticism. Well, go ahead and start posting your OCs!

Disney is good in my opinion but I feel like each time I watch a disney movie that it just don't want to make me watch it again. Like when I was younger I would watch my favorite disney movie a billion times but now I can barely make it through watching the same movie/episode twice.
