Kidzworld's Interview with Martin Kratt

Aug 22, 2014

Fans of the Wild Kratts TV series on PBS KIDS will be roaring – and creating their own creature-powered fun! – with the launch of the brand-new Wild Kratts toy line that lets them bring home all the exciting wildlife explorations of the hit show for the very first time! By popular demand, the new Wild Kratts toy line from Wicked Cool Toys will leap, bounce and soar to Toys“R”Us stores nationwide and toysrus.com this month. The imagination-inspiring new assortment of collectable action figures, plush, power suits and more, encourages young animal adventurers to role play and “activate” their own “creature powers” – just like the stars of the show, Chris and Martin Kratt!

Check out Kidzworld's interview below with Martin Kratt about their new toy line!

Kidzworld: What made you decide to create your own Wild Kratts Toy Line?

  • Martin: All of our shows have been about play, and Wild Kratts is specifically about playing with the creature powers of animals! So toys are a natural extension of the series.

Kidzworld: How did you decide what toys/animals you would make?

  • Martin: This was the hardest part! We’ve featured so many animals in the series so far, and have activated lots of creature powers that are all really cool. We listened to our fans in the letters they wrote to us, about their favorite animals and creature power suits, and made our decisions based on what seemed to be the most popular!

Kidzworld: Did you help in designing the toys?

  • Martin: Yes! We worked with our partners at Wicked Cool toys to come up with the ideas. And the 27 different toys in the stores now are just the beginning!  There are endless opportunities for fun, toys, and play in the Wild Kratts world.

Kidzworld: Do you have a favorite toy from the line?

  • Martin: Right now – I’d have to say mine are the talking Martin and Chris plush. I find it hilarious that we, in our animated form, have now turned into stuffies!

Kidzworld: Do you have a favorite animal?

  • Martain: That’s always the toughest question to answer! When I write scripts for Wild Kratts, I always learn something new about the featured animal. My favorite animal changes a lot and is usually the one I happen to be writing a Wild Kratts script about or filming.  So today, my favorite animal is a narwhal!

Kidzworld: What is the coolest animal you have worked with?

  • Martin: That’s an impossible question for me to answer! We have worked with so many amazing animals. If had to choose the “coolest” animal, as in temperature and being cold, then it would have to be the Japanese Snow Monkey!

Kidzworld: What is the scariest animal you have worked with?

  • Martin: That’s easy!  My brother when he can’t find his Creature Power Vest!

Hi there! I am Rose, (If you have somehow not seen me around so far) an avid writer and roleplayer here on KW. I've recently realized that I love critique. It's one of my favorite things to do and receive. And not so recently, I realized there's a lot of OCs that need improvement out there.  Like a lot. It's kind of scary. So I've decided to start reviewing these OCs, both the good and the bad. But as always, I have some standards.  I will review OCS from these fandoms: Dr. Who Undertale Danganronpa RWBY  Soul Eater Warrior Cats Hunger Games Divergent Harry Potter Vocaloid Black Butler MLP (Yes I am a bit of a closet brony shh don't tell anyone) Ava's Demon (Although I doubt anyone knows what this is) Percy Jackson Adventure Time Steven Universe Gravity Falls 99% of Disney Attack On Titan Touhou Avatar (The four elements and stuff not the weird blue people.) Pokemans Original Works Ask me if I review anything that isnt on this list. But before people start freaking out, I do not review LOTR, Supernatural, Narnia, or Sherlock.  Please put your character in an RP style form including name, personality, backstory, and any fandom specific info. If your character is in one of the fandoms listed go ahead and post right away. I will respond ASAP with how you can improve your OC and a general rating. Be prepared for criticism. Well, go ahead and start posting your OCs!

Disney is good in my opinion but I feel like each time I watch a disney movie that it just don't want to make me watch it again. Like when I was younger I would watch my favorite disney movie a billion times but now I can barely make it through watching the same movie/episode twice.
