The Bottom Line

In the second installation of the Maze Runner series, we literally get to see the characters break out of the box - as in, they're no longer stuck in the maze for this movie! One of the major draws of the first film was the lush backgrounds and graphics, and the second film is even more eye-catching with the change in scenery, it's worth watching for eye candy alone (and we don't just mean Dylan O'Brien!)

If there's one thing they didn't hold back on for the Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Blu-ray release, it's extras! There's more bonus footage than you'll be able to burn through in one night, so if you're nuts about this series (or you're just trying to kill time over the holidays) you're in for a treat.

The extras include a gag reel with silly moments on set with the cast, and for real fans "Janson’s Report," shows the debriefing videos with Janson, Thomas, Newt, Minho, Frypan and Aris after they arrive at the compound. This version is the must have for fans of the franchise and any members of the Dashner Army.  Both the Blu-ray and DVD include an offer for the Maze Runner mobile game with a free “Brenda” runner plus in-game currency.

Action movies and sci-fi stuff are probably one of the few things that everyone can agree is exciting, so adding the second Maze runner film to holiday watching list a great idea for the whole family.
