Over 35 Million PS4's Sold Worldwide

Jan 06, 2016

Sony announced this week that it has sold an incredible 35.9 million PlayStation 4 consoles as of January 3, 2016. This in part thanks to a successful holiday push with 5.7 million PS4's sold during the Christmas rush.

Not only that but the official report also states that an impressive 35 million plus games were also sold during the months leading up to the new year. No doubt including some of our best of the year winners.

"We are absolutely delighted that so many customers have selected PS4 as the best place to play throughout this holiday season and that the PS4 community is growing more than ever," said Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment.

Andrew goes on to say, "We remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver innovative entertainment experiences, and look forward to bringing an unprecedented games portfolio from third party developers and publishers and SCE Worldwide Studios, including UNCHARTED 4: A Thief's End, New Hot Shots Golf (working title) and The Last Guardian, this coming year."

The PlayStation 4 continues to be a juggernaut, outselling the Xbox One by roughly 2:1 and is putting it on track to be one of (if not) the best selling consoles of all time.
