BioShock Trilogy Is Coming To PS4 and Xbox One

There's Always A Lighthouse

BioShock: The Collection is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will include remastered versions of the original BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock: Infinite. However the PC version will only feature advanced versions of the first 2 games as 2K Games has stated that it "already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings."

The games will run at 1080p resolutions with 60 frames per second gameplay. In addition to the performance buffs, each of the game's DLC packs will be packaged in as well. That includes the challenge rooms from the first game, The Protector Trials and the awesome Minerva's Den from BioShock 2, and Infinite's wave-based fighter Clash In The Clouds and the two part Burial At Sea story expansion. That's a ton of great content in addition to one of the greatest first person shooters of all time. If you were a fan of BioShock 2's multiplayer you'll be disappointed to see its absence from the collection.

The original BioShock is one of the greatest games ever released and you can see its impact all over games since its original 2007 release. If you like horror, great combat and story, and are able to play Mature rated games then you have to make sure you pick it up. Irrational Games was the development team behind BioShock and BioShock: Infinite while 2K Marin took over for the sequel. While Irrational Games shut down following Infinite's release, the rumor is that 2K Marin will return to the franchise with the next game. While nothing has been officially announced, remasters often suggest that news is on its way about a new entry in a franchise.

BioShock: The Collection will release on September 13, 2016. With its announcement it's already become one of my most anticipated games of the year. The only thing that could make this release any better would be VR support.
