Book Review - The Thief Lord

Prosper and Bo have been recently orphaned, shipped off to live with their grandfather and now, their snooty aunt is coming to take five year-old Bo away to live with her. Prosper and Bo are determined they will never be separated, so they run away from their grandfather's home in Hamburg, Germany and make their way to Venice where new friends, mystery and adventure await them.

Within days of stepping off the train in Venice, Prosper and Bo meet another runaway - a 12 year-old girl named Hornet who brings them to her hideaway. Here, Prosper and Bo meet Scipio (AKA the Thief Lord,) the most notorious thief in all of Venice - and he's only 12! The Thief Lord breaks into the homes of the super rich in order to support his friends. It's kind of a modern-day Robin Hood story, without the tights.

This book is full of adventure as the Thief Lord takes on his biggest job yet, one that will pay five million lire (approximately $2,700 US,) enough money to support the runaways for quite a while. Meanwhile, Prosper and Bo try desperately to evade the private detective that their aunt has hired to find them. If you're looking for something other than lame reruns on TV to keep you on your toes, pick up a copy of The Thief Lord for some guaranteed, thumbs-up entertainment.
