What happens when you find out that your father's a prince, your grandmother's a queen and you are the heir to a far away European throne? If you're anything like Mia Thermopolis, you freak out. It's been a couple of years since you were introduced to Princess Mia, when the first volume of her diary found its way to the big screen. Princess Diaries: Princess in Waiting follows Mia in between the time she finds out she's a princess and the time that she makes her way to Genovia in Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

Princess Diaries - Dealing With Royal DNA

The Princess Diaries: Princess in Waiting finds Mia back in Genovia for her winter break, attending to all of her princessly duties. Since becoming aware of her royal DNA, Mia has grudgingly promised her father to spend her winter and summer breaks in Genovia. This means she has to spend an entire 32 days apart from her one, true love, Michael Moscovitz - what torture!

Princess Diaries - Grandmother Knows Best

Because Mia is so obsessed with holding onto Michael, she turns to anyone and everyone for advice, including her miserable, old grandmother. Grandmère Renaldo tells her to let Michael stew a bit - never let him know you're interested or he'll get bored with you. Think it'll work?

Princess Diaries - Bottom Line Whether you've seen The Princess Diaries flick or not, you'll wanna grab your very own copy of The Princess Diaries: Princess in Waiting - especially if you're a fan of novels written in a journal format. It's easier to read and a lot more playful.
