Sing, Dance or Act Your Summer Away!

If the highlight of last year's summer camp was counting your mosquito bites, maybe you should give one of these creative camps a try. Whether you want to learn to sing, dance or act, there's a summer camp for you. Even Britney Spears has got into the act with her performing arts summer camp for disadvantaged kids in New York, New England and Washington DC.

Acting Camps

Your friends already know that you're a star, but why not prove it to yourself. Acting camps teach you to tweak your natural, dramatic abilities for both stage and TV. Some summer camps even invite agents and talent scouts to check out their performances, so you may just get "discovered." Check out your local community theater for classes and camps. Head to www.britneyspears.com for more info on her Performing Arts camp.

Singing Summer Camps

So you want to be the next Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson? Get your voice in gear at a camp that teaches you about harmony, pitch and tone without the harsh Simon-style criticism. Even if the summer camp doesn't quite prepare you to be the next American Idol, you'll be ready to dazzle your friends at your school's next talent show!

Dance Camps for Summer

Whether you're into ballet, hip-hop or breakdancing, there's a summer camp for you out there. You can spend anywhere from a couple of days to the whole summer perfecting your pirouette or fixing your flares. To find a class near you, check out your local dance school or community center.
