From Justin to Kelly Movie Review
Courtesy of 20th Century FoxIt's
spring break and two groups of friends head for the beach. The girls are from Texas and looking for love. The boys are from Pennsylvania and looking for fun, and money, as they organize such
tasteful events as whipped cream
bikini contests. Yeah,
classy. Anyway, these crazy kids are
looking for love and singing about it at the same time. But does
From Justin to Kelly hold its own in the musical movie world?
From Justin to Kelly - Perfect Pitch
It's always fun to watch
spring break action and this isn't the scary, caught-on-tape stuff. Sure, there is a
whipped cream bikini contest, but it ends with Kelly spraying whip cream in Justin's face out of
protest. Go
Kelly Clarkson! Some of the
group songs are pretty good. I really like the fact that
From Justin to Kelly concentrates on the plot and not just the
music. It is a good
storyline and it involved all the characters, not just the leads,
Justin Guarini and
Kelly Clarkson.
From Justin to Kelly - Off-Key Parts
I think some of the musical numbers start off a little goofy.
Justin Guarini, standing inches from Kelly Clarkson, just bursts into
song - full-force, right in her face! It made me giggle. Also, it's
lame that the costume designer saw Kelly Clarkson's
size as such a problem. Just because Kelly
weighs a normal amount and Alexa and Kaya (
Katherine Bailess and Anika Noni Rose)
weigh very little, Kelly is alway wearing a lot of
unnecessary clothes.
Kelly Clarkson is on the
beach in jeans and a full-coverage tank top while the other two girls are in
string bikinis. I'd rather they
cover up all those
boney kneecaps and let Kelly show some skin.
From Justin to Kelly - Bottom Line
It's a cute, fun flick with some cool
dancing and
tunes. I think the plot and the
kissing scene were worth the cash - but go check it out for yourself. You can catch the
