Amelia Atwater-Rhodes is back on book shelves with her newest novel, Hawksong. This time, the author takes a break from Vampire lore and heads into a whole new mythical world of shapeshifters. Does this new novel take shape or should you shift it off your reading list? Check out the Kidzworld review!

Singing Hawksong's Praises

Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' novel, Hawksong, has some of her most interesting characters to date. Danica Shardae the Hawk-related shapeshifter in Hawksong, is a truly likeable character who is also very real in her fears and emotions. Cobra-related shapeshifter, Zane Cobriana is more cool and sexy than Aubrey or any of Atwater-Rhodes' previous male characters. The story is so interesting and Romeo & Juliet-ish that you probably won't put it down until it's finished.

Hawksong's Sour Notes

Hawksong is definitely a little melodramatic and over-the-top, but if you're into a good romance and some original characters, you won't mind a bit. As usual, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes leaves you at the good part and you'll probably wish the book was a little longer. Luckily, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes told Kidzworld that there will be more books featuring Danica Shardae and Zane Cobriana in the future.

Hawksong: The Bottom Line

Move over Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, you're not the only must-read in the summer of 2003! Hawksong is also worth your brain cells.
