Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup Event

Electronic Arts (EA) created the cool new Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup video game for the Nintendo Gamecube, PS2, Xbox and PC, so Harry Potter fans all over the world can experience the sport of witches and wizards, at home. Now they're taking it a step further by letting gamers compete against one another with the Quidditch World Cup video game Championship!

Quidditch World Cup - The Gaming Event

The main event went down in San Francisco at EA's HQ (Headquarters). Nintendo and LEGO pitched in to set the whole place up like a slice of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - complete with magicians, owls, Quidditch games and more magic than you could shake a wand at. There were Gamecube video game stations for everyone to test their Quidditch skills on, and they even called in rap superstar Bow Wow to help MC the event!

Quidditch World Cup - The Kid Contestants

Eight lucky contestants, five girls and three guys, from all over North America were flown in to meet Bow Wow in person, and compete in the Quidditch World Cup event. They were all between eight and 14 years old and had the craziest Quidditch playing skills in North America.

Quidditch World Cup - The Game Prize

Each of the eight finalists scored their very own Golden Snitch and had a chance to chat with Bow Wow before the main event. The event winner scored a Nimbus 2000 broom. Plus, the champion gets flown to England to represent North America in the Quidditch World Championship match held on December 21st!

Quidditch World Cup - The Main Event

For the main event, the eight contestants were given random teams (England, USA, Spain, etc) that they'd be playing for the tournament. Then they were paired off to compete head-to-head on Nintendo Gamecube video game systems. Each player was given 10 minutes to stomp on the other player, unless they ended up in Snitch-chasing overtime. Bow Wow was on hand to report the action as it happened. The first four matches had three Golden Snitch captures and eliminated half of the players.

Banned for driving me to end the silence and driving me to say:*Coconuts are a nice fruit and it's as delicious as people think it is. In other words I don't mind if you have your own opinion. I don't mind at all. So even if you have a negative opinion on long paragraphs, I will respect that and let you know that you never need to read all of this. It's just here as part of my ban to Abbergrl. It doesn't matter if you read this because she is still banned. I have nothing against her, Abbergrl is queen. You slay grl. No pun intended. Actually it was definitely intended. Would I lie to you? Na! I should be doing something important but instead I'm doing this. All in the name of queen Abbergrl of the KW kingdom. I shall now bow down to her even though I'm banning her. What is up with me? And what is up with you? Why are you still reading this? Who knew people were so attentive? I wish I was like that TBH; how I envy you. Gah, I'd give anything. Except my family, friends, and electronics. I'd make a shout out to all of them but they won't be reading this and neither is anyone else. If you're still reading this, wow. I apologise if some of my questioning is overdone. Sometimes I'm repetitive. Sometimes I'm repetitive. Sometimes I'm repetitive. Sometimes I'm repetitive. Maybe you lost your place in this paragraph, who knows? Maybe you lost your place in this paragraph, who knows? I love a good mystery. Ever read any mysteries and realised that the evilest looking people are never guilty? Never judge a book by its cover. Known fact: I have never screamed or cried at any movies. Known fact 2: I have written longer nonsensical paragraphs. Yeah I don't like to bore people, even though I just did, so I'll end it here. I warned you there was no point to this. Grey squirrels eat bagels but purple squirrels like knitting, why are circles round? Tulips, because 64 is not an ice cream. Oh, and coconuts for life.*
