The Hobbit for Gamecube

The Hobbit for Gamecube - Reviewed by Kidzworld on Dec 27, 2006
( Rating: 4 Star Rating)

Kidzworld reviews the adventures of Bilbo Baggins on the Nintendo Gamecube from before The Lord of the Rings movies!

In the Lord of the Rings movies, Frodo (Elijah Wood) is the heroic hobbit who fights the forces of the evil Sauron and his minions. But, before The Lord of the Rings brought Orlando Bloom to the screen as Legolas Greenleaf, the hobbit Bilbo Baggins was saving the day, and finding the One Ring. The Hobbit video game for the Nintendo Gamecube game console lets you control the brave lil' fella in the original quest to slay the dragon Smaug.

The Hobbit Gamecube Video Game - Little Facts

The adventures of Bilbo Baggins start in Hobbitown when Gandalf the Wizard arrives, just like in The Lord of the Rings. You get to control brave Bilbo as he fights the forces of evil orcs, goblins, spiders and the occasional troll. There's a lot of sword-swinging action, sneaking around, puzzle solving and, of course, item fetching.

The Hobbit Gamecube Video Game - Good Fun

There are plenty of cool things about The Hobbit video game. It's bright, cheerful, fun and there's always somewhere you can save your game. It's also really fun to see how Bilbo got the One Ring from Gollum.

The Hobbit Gamecube Video Game - Small Problems

The first problem is that Bilbo is totally keen on exploring the world and fighting orcs and goblins. What?!? The dude is the size of a pot roast and he knows it! This guy is way braver than any hobbit in The Lord of the Rings movies, and it's weird.

The Hobbit Gamecube Video Game - Final Word

If you've already finished The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, then pick this game up and give it a spin. It's a solid game, especially for Lord of the Rings fans, but it's nothing outstanding.

The Hobbit Gamecube Game Age Rating: Everyone.

The Hobbit Gamecube Game Thumbs Up:

  • Stealing the One Ring from Gollum!
  • Sneaking around is cool.
  • Lots of save points.

The Hobbit Gamecube Game Thumbs Down:

  • Bilbo is acting strange for a hobbit.
  • Getting stuck between two awnings sucks.

The Hobbit Gamecube Game Rating: 4

Athena would be the one to bring the young boy into real life as a gift to her daughter. His eyes are dark, dark grey that often are filled with thunder and lightning. His hair is dirty blonde, with a few dyed purple streaks. He often is attacked by mystical monsters, but his true passion is Duel Monsters, his advanced and logical approach earning him many a win. He prefers to have a plethora of options that allow him to always keep his opponent on their toes. He prefers to journey along side his father to tournaments, but he spends a few months each year at Camp Half-Blood to learn more about his grandmother and her family.

Ooh, this would be a girl who kind of has some human traits but she's mostly gem. Stevidot's outfit would be a star tank top and denim shorts. The hair would be brown with green tips and Stevidot would be way more flexible. She would be pretty kind but has a flair for amazing comebacks. Of course. She would have the ability to summon a Metal Spiked Shield to use for both attacks by impaling and defense because it's a shield. Finally, she'd be amazing at technology, gem history, and Earth traditions. Yami from Yu-gi-oh and Annabeth from Percy Jackson (Yamibeth)
