Anthony Anderson's Acting Roots

Anthony Anderson grew up in Los Angeles, California so it was easy for him to be bitten by the acting bug. His first couple of roles were nothing to get excited about, like the part of "Alley Hood #2" in the TV movie called Alien Avengers. But no-name roles were only a stepping stone for Anthony Anderson, and soon he was landing lead roles in everything from television to movies.

Anthony Anderson's Hang Time

Anthony's big break came when he landed the role of Teddy Brodis in the TNBC morning teen sitcom Hang Time. Anthony really got to show off his comdey skills playing the bumbling, goofy high school basketball player - and you never would have guessed he was actually in his late 20s at the time! After Hang Time, Anthony Anderson landed some key roles in big screen movies like Big Momma's House and Me, Myself and Irene, )where he played Jim Carrey's son). Anthony Anderson really hit the jackpot with two flicks in 2003 - Malibu's Most Wanted (co-starring Jamie Kennedy) and Kangaroo Jack (co-starring Jerry O'Connell). Both flicks were highly successful and Anthony Anderson became a household name.

On March 12, 2004 Anthony Anderson will showcase his comedic skills once more as Derek in the spy flick Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London. Anderson's character, Derek, is teen secret agent Cody Banks' new handler. Derek is a bit of a wisecracker and tends to steal mopeds from innocent Londoners.
