Meet the Smashenburns from Game Over

Game Over is a show about video game characters and what they do when they aren't, kicking butt, racing cars or knocking over pawn shops. Yeah, turns out those vid characters live in suburban cyber space and have a family, just like the rest of us... Okay, well, nothing like the rest of us - that's what makes it so fun to watch. Get the 411 on TV's video game first family, The Smashenburns.

Meet The Smashenburns

  • Rip Smashenburn:

Rip is the head of the household, or so he seems to think. Rip's job - besides being dad to Alice and Billy, and husband to Raquel - is to race in a Grand Prix video game. His biggest dream is to one day finish a race without blowing up. He does that a lot.
  • Raquel Smashenburn:

Raquel is a supermom who just happens to also be a Lara Croft-ish monster-killing, butt-kicker in her spare time. How cool would that be? When Raquel isn't working as a gun-toting government agent, she's taking care of Billy, Alice and Rip.
  • Alice Smashenburn:

Alice is the eldest Smashenburn kid. She's totally melodramatic and melancholy. Although you might be that way too if you had to go bra shopping with your dad! 'Nuff said.
  • Billy Smashenburn: Billy loves rap and hip hop. He thinks he's too cool for school and the last thing he wants to do with his life is be a race car driver like his dad.
  • Turbo:

This guy is a little hard to explain. He's the Smashenburn's family pet and seems to be a cross between a dog and a dinosaur or something. He, like Rip and Raquel, has a video game job... or attitude (or something). He is a tough guy who goes around smoking, busting up parking meters, and robbing the Shaolin monks who live next door.

    Fun Game Over Facts!

  • Charlie's Angel Lucy Liu is the voice of Raquel Smashenburn.
  • The Smashenburn's local mall is located in Vice City, like the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. (Not exactly a safe neighborhood.)
  • One of Alice's funnier lines is "Can we eat or do you want me to be anorexic like those anime basket cases?!"
  • Aside from Shaolin monks, their neighbors include a station wagon driving ninja and the Dark Princess.
  • Game Over is the first fully computer-animated television series.

    Game Over Free PC Game

At the same time Game Over debuted on UPN, they also released a PC game based on the characters from the show. Game Over in Machinimation is a free, downloadable PC game from Fountainhead Entertainment. The game features Raquel Smashenburn, as she goes to an alien planet in search of the ancient artifact known as the Alien Monkey before returning home to her family. You can also make your own short film with the character!

Pick a Fave: Yu-Gi-Oh or Shaman King?

    • I think Yu-Gi-Oh kicks everything's butt!
    • I think Shaman King looks like it'll kick Yu-Gi-Oh's butt!
    • I like 'em both!
    • I'm not into either cartoon.

I am tied for nick and disney. I like nick for the fact that it had some good shows like Fairly Oddparents. disney had good shows that brings back good memories but it now has stupid shows with screaming children and overall loud voices, in a bad way.

It depends. I prefer the older shows on Disney and Nick. Most shows that are on Disney and Nick today are stupid in my opinion, If I would watch anything it would be Spongebob and the older shows on Nick and Disney. I can't decide.
