2004 Slam City Jam

The planet's top skateboarders, including Andy MacDonald and Ryan Sheckler arrived in Vancouver for North America's biggest skateboarding event. Kidzworld has the goods on the 2004 Slam City Jam.

Bucky Goes Big, Ryan Sheckler Takes Third

  • Bucky Lasek went big once again at Slam City 2004. He easily won the Vert Champion title with a incredible series of aerial lip tricks. Chris Gentry finished second after stomping several frontside rodeos in the pipe. Sandros Dias, the Brazilian boarding master, took third place.
  • In the Street Competition, fan favorite Ryan Sheckler, failed to defend his Slam City title and finished in third place. Sheckler was narrowly edged out by Greg Lutzka and Brazilian switch machine, Rodil Junior. Ryan Sheckler still wins top marks for having the best haircut and being the only 14 year-old at Slam City who didn't have to borrow money from his parents to attend.

    World Record Kick Flip

For those of you who are cursing, pulling your hair out and driving yourself crazy trying to land a kickflip, you'll appreciate what David Novoty pulled off at the Slam City Jam. David landed not one, not 20, not 30, but a mind-boggling 75 kickflips in a row during the Slam's Kickflip contest! That's insane! He may have set a new Guiness World Record and also won a week trip to the Vans High Cascade Snowboard/Skateboard camp in Oregon!

    Slam City Jam Pics

From Ryan Sheckler riding rails to Andy MacDonald getting massive air at the Vert Competition, Kidzworld has pics of your favorite skateboarders at the Slam City Jam. Click here to check 'em out.

You can catch highlights from the 2004 Slam City Jam on NBC at 11:00 AM EST on Saturday, May 8, 2004.

Every sport is dangerous, some are just more obvious than others. When people are good at what they do, they make things seem easy. very well said! I was a cheerleader for 2 years until  I aged out, but let ,e tell you, they were 2 of the best, sweaty and most fun years I have ever had
