The biggest summer action sports event of the year runs from August 2-5, 2007. X Games 13 gets underway in Los Angeles, California - the birthplace of skateboarding, BMX and many of your other favorite extreme sports. Kidzworld takes a look at the events and athletes of the X Games.
X Games 13 - Events
The Summer X Games features
six different sports - skateboarding,
motocross, surfing,
wakeboarding, agressive inline skating and
BMX. One event to keep an eye on is the
Big Air event, which is part of the
skateboarding competition. Skaters will speed down an 80-foot launch ramp, hit a big gap while attempting sick tricks and land in a quarterpipe. Another cool event at the X Games is
Super Moto - a wild combination of supercross, freestyle and motorcycle street racing. The competition will take place on a crazy course featuring
dirt hits, corners and asphalt straight-aways. All
motocross riders will start at the same time, with the winner being the first to complete 20 laps of the track.
