Breakthrough Actors of 2005 - Girls

Olivia Wilde plays the part of Alex on The OC.Olivia Wilde - She's already had a good start to the year and things are going to get even better for Olivia Wilde. You probably recognize her as Alex on The OC - the girl that's heating things up on the primetime FOX hit. But that's not all Olivia has up her sleeve for 2005. She plays alongside Justin Timberlake and Emile Hirsch in the flick Alpha Dog and you can check her out in Bickford Schmeckler's Cool Ideas with Patrick Fugit later in the year.

You might remember Michelle Trachtenberg from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.Michelle Trachtenberg - Michelle made her debut as Sarah Michelle Gellar's little sister Dawn on Buffy the Vampire Slayer back in 2000, but we haven't seen too much of her since. Sure, she was in the flick Euro Trip, but she has yet to have her day in the sun. Expect it to happen in 2005 with the release of the Disney movie, Ice Princess, where Michelle plays an aspiring figure skater.

Samaire Armstrong has her own clothing line called NARU.Samaire Armstrong - Looks like The OC is a good place to get your foot in the Hollywood door. Samaire played Adam Brody's love interest, Anna, last season and since her exit from the show she's been keeping busy. She now stars in the HBO show, Entourage, and she's set to appear in an unnamed Lindsay Lohan movie this year. She also has her own line of clothing called NARU, which has been featured in mags like YM, Cosomogirl and Elle Girl.

Jamie Lynn Spears is Britney Spears' little sister.Jamie Lynn Spears - Okay, so her only real claim to fame so far is being Britney Spears' little sis, but we think that Jamie is going to show the world what she's got in 2005. She's got her very own Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101, now so expect to see a lot more of Jamie in the coming months.

Julia Roberts' niece, Emma Roberts, has her own Nickelodeon TV show called Unfabulous.Emma Roberts - It looks like we have another multi-talented celeb on our hands with Emma Roberts. She's the niece of the highest paid actress of our time, Julia Roberts and she's looking to cash in on that. Emma's got her own Nick show called Unfabulous, she's set to star in the flick Aquamarine with singing sensation JoJo. Taking the lead from JoJo, Emma also just signed a recording contract with Sony Music and his busy recording her debut album.

It included a lot of mature themes and it really connects with today's older youth. You mean violence wise? Not just that, but the show tells the stories of the characters finding themselves. Take Asami for example. A lot of people have a late relative and another relative involved in some kind of trouble. She had her relationships AND family business to take care of, which relates to some of today's youth who feel like they have the whole world on their shoulders. They're starting to have to take responsibility for things they can hardly manage, and seeing the triumph of a character like Asami is truly inspiring. Her mother's dead, her father's in prison, her boyfriend was stolen from her, and her business nearly failed. But she did not give up, which sends a positive message to today's generation of teens. Mako was not stolen from Asami he just chose Korra and everyone knows that thats what people wanted. As messed up as that sounds its the truth.
