Courtesy of New LineGet ready for an intergalactic ride with Son of the Mask! There's magic, mayhem and a ton of crazy adventures. So is Son of the Mask a flick you should check out? Find out right here!
Son of the Mask - Magic and Mystery
Tim Avery (played by Jamie Kennedy) is an aspiring
cartoonist, looking to get his
very own show. His wife Tonya is desperate to have a baby, but Tim isn't quite ready for that kind of
responsibility. But, one night, as Tim gets ready for his work
Halloween party, he decides to use an old wooden mask that his dog Otis has found as part of his
costume. Before Tim knows it, he is transformed by the mask into a suave,
ladies man and that night, his wife becomes pregnant!
Son of the Mask - Crazy Capers
Nine months later, a baby is born. But this isn't your average baby. Tim and Tonya's new little boy, Alvey Avery, has been
born of the mask and has all of its powers. As if that's not crazy enough, the real owner of the mask, an
ancient God named Loki, is on the lookout for the mask and this new mask baby. It's not long before Alvey realizes he has powers and soon begins to use them to try and
drive his dad insane! Between Alvey and Loki, there are some pretty
awesome special effects, and Otis provides
lots of laughs - especially when he plots to get rid of little Alvey.
Son of the Mask - Movie Mishaps
The plot of Son of the Mask can get a little confusing at times. There are a ton of
different stories going on all at once, which makes it a little
hard to follow. Between Loki's quest to find the mask, Alvey's plan to make his dad crazy and Tim's desire to get his
own TV show, you might get lost in the story at times. Luckily you'll probably be distracted by all the bright lights and
shape-shifting to really notice how awkward the story is.
Son of the Mask - DVD Features
Son of the Mask is a movie that's packed with
awesome special effects. With the DVD, you get to take a
behind-the-scenes look at how they managed to turn Jamie Kennedy into a buff, ladies man and how baby Alvey pulled all those
far-out tricks. Be sure to also check out
Hollywood's Pampered Pooches - a featurette about
celebrity dogs.
Son of the Mask - Bottom Line
If you're just looking for a silly movie to
make you laugh, then Son of the Mask is a good flick to check out. There isn't
a great story, but the crazy special effects will make it worth your while. Plus, little Alvey Avery is
one cute kid.
