It's been two years since the Hot Wheels teams hit the pavement for the World Race, but now they are back and better than ever. AcceleRacers is the latest installment of the Hot Wheels Highway 35 show. You were introduced to this comicbook-turned-cartoon two years ago when World Race hit the airwaves but now that Highway 35 has been destroyed, it's up to the new AcceleRacer teams to save the day. Hot Wheels AcceleRacers - Main Characters

Team Teku: This team has the most high-tech, expensive and fashionable cars. Led by Nolo Pasaro, Team Teku includes the self-absorbed Vert Wheeler and his former rival, Kurt Wylde.

Team Metal Maniacs: The Metal Maniacs are all about the super-powerful vehicles that are a mix of new high-tech parts and things they've salvaged from junkyards. This team is led by Tork Maddox, and also includes Kurt's bro Mark Wylde and Taro Kitano.

Team Racing Drones: This team takes racing to the next level as it is comprised of test robots that are supposed to be better than any human racer. These determined machines are led by Gelorum.

Peter Tezla: Tezla is a scientific genius who discovers Highway 35. In AcceleRacers he pits rival racing teams against one another to retrieve the Accele-Charger. If the two teams don't succeed, the Racing Drones could get their hands on it and use it for evil!

Hot Wheels AcceleRacers - Fun Facts

AcceleRacers is a four-part series that will air throughout 2005. The second installment, Speed of Silence, airs on the Cartoon Network on March 19, 2005.
