Girls in Pants - The Third Summer of the Sisterhood

For their entire lives, Carmen, Tibby, Lena and Bee have shared a special bond. Their moms all met in a prenatal aerobics class 18 years ago - and ever since, the foursome has been inseparable. They've always been there for one another through the hard times, until one day, two years ago, they were faced with having to spend the summer apart. That is when the pants came to them. A magical pair of jeans that miraculously fit each of them perfectly. Throughout each summer since, they have passed the pants around to feel connected and to experience the magic. This summer is their last summer before heading to college - and the pants are there to see them through.

Girls in Pants - Growing Apart

For the past couple of summers, each of the girls has gone off to do their thing, knowing that in the fall they will come back to the friends they've known their whole lives. This summer, only Bee goes away - and when the summer comes to an end, they will have one last weekend to spend together, before all shipping off to different colleges. None of them really want to face having to say goodbye, so they immerse themselves in different hobbies throughout the summer.

Girls in Pants - Falling in Love

The first book in the Traveling Pants series had many of the girls falling in love for the first time. In the third book, they have each grown up a lot and re-evaluated what was most important in their lives. Carmen has to come to terms with her mom starting a new family with her new husband, Lena learns to follow her passion for art, Bee confronts the past and starts to let old wounds heal, while Tibby learns to face life head on. And during all this self-discovery, they each find someone who they really care about.

Girls in Pants - The Bottom Line

This whole series is one that every girl should definitely read! It's all about the importance of friendship, which is something we sometimes forget. Without a good friend by your side, life can feel overwhelming sometimes - but with the right person helping you out along the way, you feel like you can conquer the world. Girls in Pants, along with its accompanying books, is funny, heart-warming and totally magical. Be sure to pick this up and check out the movie once it hits theaters!
