The 2004-2005 NBA regular season is over and it's time for the slam-dunking, buzzer-beating, flagrant-fouling action of the playoffs to begin. There's no Kobe and no Lebron James - but there are several teams this year with a shot to win it all. The Kidzworld Coach makes his 2005 NBA Playoff Picks.

2005 NBA Playoffs - Western Conference

With Shaq moving to Miami and Sacramento downsizing, the Western Conference is more competitive than it has been in years.
Western Conference Contenders
  • Phoenix Suns - The arrival of Steve Nash in Phoenix turned the Suns into title contenders but their run-and-gun offence might not do well in the playoffs when defences become tighter than a Jennifer Lopez party dress.
  • San Antonio Spurs - If Tim Duncan is fully recovered from his late season ankle injury, the Spurs should be on their way to another title.
  • Denver Nuggets - The Nuggets were the NBA's hottest team in the second half of the season. If Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin step their games up, the Nuggets could strike playoff gold.
  • The Coach's Pick For Western Final: San Antonio Spurs over Phoenix Suns in 6.
  • 2005 NBA Playoffs - Eastern Conference

The NBA's Eastern Conference is no longer a pathetic collection of washed up gym rats. The Shaq Attack has heated up Miami. The Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers have created a rivalry that's nastier than a cat fight between Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton. Whoever comes out of the East will be more than capable of battling the best in the West.
    Eastern Conference Contenders
  • Miami Heat - The combination of Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O'Neal could be more unstoppable than the Kobe-Shaq combo of the Lakers Dynasty. But will Shaq stay healthy through a long playoff schedule?
  • Detroit Pistons - The Pistons are the defending champs and they go into the playoffs running on all cylinders.
  • Indiana Pacers - The revitalized Pacers will want to give the retiring Reggie Miller one last shot at an NBA title.
  • The Coach's Pick For Eastern Final: Detroit Pistons over Indiana Pacers in 7.
  • Coach's Pick For NBA Title:

Detroit Pistons over Phoenix Suns in 5 games.

Cheer leading, I think, is not a sport. I mean the girls who are cheer leaders never go are the girls teams but never miss a team where there are boys. So if it was a sport then shouldn't they cheer for all the students who are play a certain game where cheer leading is needed/allowed? Maybe in some schools it is a sport but in most, it isn't. -_-'

I don't know what is wrong with these teams. Former Colt's Head Coach, Tony Dungy, said that he wouldn't wan Sam because of the attention he was bringing. I just don't get it. I heard that his stats were amazing. A player should not be cut because of their orientation but because of their attitude or extremely poor skill. Why can't they just let him do what he loves to do, play football on a team that wants him.
