Madagascar for Nintendo DS: Video Game Review
Courtesy of ActivisionWelcome to the zoo!
Madagascar is all about four freaky
zoo critters makin' a run for the wild. In the Madagascar
video game for the
Nintendo DS, it's up to you to help 'em make their dreams come true. Is it fun or feeble? Here's our
review!
Zoo Basics in Madagascar for Nintendo DS
Madagascar is an old-school
platform game. You control the zoo dudes, and dudette, as they make a break for it. The levels are all about jumping on ledges,
collecting coins, sneaking past bad guys, stomping the occasional critter and avoiding pits. The controls are easy, the levels are simple and it's solid fun for anyone to try playing.
Madagascar's Cool Critters
The really big fun factor in this game is that you control all of the critters from the movie - Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo. Each one has
different powers and you can swap between 'em to use their powers to beat each level. Plus, you get to play as the
psycho penguins!
Big, Bad, Bummers in the Madagascar Video Game
The biggest bummer with Madagascar is that the game is
too easy. Once you master a few moves, you'll be able to finish it in no time. And, there isn't a lot of extra stuff unless you have a buddy to play
multiplayer games with.
The Bottom Line for Madagascar
Madagascar is a nice, light popcorn game that's fun to play while it lasts but won't last too long. If you dig the
Madagascar movie, or are looking for something fun for your DS, give it a spin!
Madagascar Thumbs Up:
Easy to play.
Multiplayer fun!
Cool cartoony levels.
Madagascar Thumbs Down:
It needs more monkeys!
Barely any of the voices from the movie.
If you don't know the movie, you miss most of the plot.
Madagascar Game Rating:
