FIFA Soccer from EA - PSP Video Game Review
Courtesy of EADo you dig soccer? Do you want to play it when you're on the go? Electronic Arts is here to feed your need for sports action with the FIFA Soccer video game for the Sony PSP. How does the Playstation Portable handle EA's sports game? We've checked it out and here's the 411 for you!
Kickin' it with FIFA Soccer on the PSP
EA has packed
hundreds of players and teams, tons of options, great graphics and a bag of
potato chips into this game. Ok, maybe not the chips. It's basically
FIFA Soccer 2005 for the
PS2, but with enough bits cut off to fit it into the
PSP.
Scorin' Points with FIFA Soccer
The best news is that the
graphics have stayed rock solid and the
music is still great. There are also a bunch of
game modes you can play with, from single matches to
full seasons, and when you pull off cool moves you earn points you can use to
unlock extra uniforms, stadiums, balls and music. Sweet!
Losin' Games with FIFA Soccer
Here's what hurts - the multiplayer is all busted! You can play it, but it lags and the graphics go all to heck on you occasionally. There's also no career mode, which is a serious bummer. It's a bit tricky to pull moves on the PSP too, unless you're a supreme master of thumb-fu.
Final Score for EA's FIFA Soccer on the PSP
It's a decent
soccer game, but it's missing a bunch of the stuff that could take it from ho-hum to
sha-zam. If you want to play a whole lot of soccer, it's good. But it definitely has problems.
FIFA Soccer Thumbs Up:
Wicked graphics.
Great sound and music.
Hundreds of players and teams.
FIFA Soccer Thumbs Down:
Busted multiplayer.
No career mode.
Hard to pull tricks.
FIFA Soccer Rating:
