Undiscovered Movie Review

Dec 27, 2006

In the world of wannabes, four up-and-coming entertainers struggle to make it big in Hollywood. Read Kidzworld's review of Undiscovered to find out if you should race down to the theatre, or back away slowly.

Undiscovered - On the Way Up

On a cold, winter New York City day, Brier, an aspiring model, and Luke, a struggling musician, fall in love at first sight on a crowded subway train - but the doors close before they can talk to each other. It's not until two years later that their paths cross again in LA, where Luke is still struggling in the music biz and Brier is trying her hand at acting. To help Luke strike a record deal, Brier and her actress/singer friend, Clea (played by Ashlee Simpson), create some buzz to turn Luke into the next big thing.

Undiscovered - On the Way Down

Pretty soon, Luke is recording an album, performing at all the LA hotspots and dating supermodels - but as his popularity and success grow, so does his ego! When his record label finds out that Luke's instant success was just a sham, they drop him faster than you can say "fame." Undiscovered starts out alright, but gets so lost in the ever-growing madness of Luke's rock star hair that even Ashlee Simpson can't save this movie from bombing!

Undiscovered - Bottom Line

After her stint on 7th Heaven, it's no surprise that Ashlee Simpson is a better actress than big sister Jessica. But, she only plays a small role in Undiscovered. She sings a couple of songs (including her song, Undiscovered) and struggles, literally, to get discovered. While this movie has its entertaining moments (like the bulldog that rides a skateboard), it's not worth waiting in line for tickets. Instead, wait for it to come out on DVD and watch it on a day when you're dreaming of becoming a famous rock star...
