Top 10 Soundtracks

Dec 27, 2006

Have you ever watched a movie - and been so blown away by its music that you leave the theatre singing and humming the tracks? Well, Kidzworld has compiled a top 10 list of the coolest movie soundtracks - check 'em out!

#10. Freaky Friday

Both Lindsay Lohan and Ashlee Simpson made their recording debuts on the Freaky Friday soundtrack, but the best tracks come from Simple Plan's remake of Happy Together and Bowling For Soup's version of Britney Spears' ...Baby One More Time.

#9. Shrek 2

There's not a peep out there who didn't fall accidentally in love with Shrek, Donkey and Princess Fiona. One of the highlights of this soundtrack is Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas trashing Ricky Martin's Livin' La Vida Loca! It's hilarious, so pick up a copy today!

#8. A Lot Like Love

Featuring bands like Third Eye Blind, Smash Mouth and The Cure, this soundtrack is as good as it gets - but it would've been better if it included Ashton Kutcher's rendition of I'll Be There For You!

#7. Star Wars: Episodes I, II, III

Ok, so you can't exactly sing along, but the themes from the Star Wars cycle are pretty spine-tingling. You can just see the scenes playing out in your head as you listen to the scores. But, try not to turn to the Dark Side as you get out your lightsaber.

#6. Titanic
Titanic is a classic love story with a classic love song. The soundtrack makes it into the top 10 simply cuz of the gutwrenching track, My Heart Will Go On. Who doesn't blink back tears when they hear Celine Dion belt out "Near, far, wherever you are, I believe that the heart does go on?"

#5. Roll Bounce
Skate into the '70s roller-disco craze with the soulful tunes from Roll Bounce. Get down and boogie with Beyonce, Michelle Williams and Fabolous, who put new spins on oldies like Al Green's Let's Stay Together. These tracks are just what you need for your next '70s party or roller skating-themed bash!

#4. Shark Tale

The music for Shark Tale is just as hot as the cast! Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott team up to perform an updated version of the disco hit, Car Wash, while Mary J. Blige and Will Smith sing Got To Be Real. More great singers are featured, including Justin Timberlake, D12, JoJo and Ludacris.

#3. School of Rock

If you're a rock n' roll fan, then this is the album for you. You won't be disappointed at the sounds of The Ramones, The Doors and The Who! And you'll even get to hear Jack Black and the School of Rock band rock out on a few tunes.

#2. Grease

The musical Grease may be from your parent's generation, but it's still a cool flick with a super cool soundtrack! John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John show us that grease is the word with this double disc Grease-fest, featuring vintage singles like Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin' and You're the One That I Want.

#1. Charlie's Angels

Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore kicked butt in Charlie's Angels, and the bootylicious trio of Destiny's Child made girls stand up and be proud to be independent women. What more can you ask for?
