Scottish quartet Franz Ferdinand - named after the Austro-Hungarian Archduke whose assassination sparked [kwlink]World War I[/kwlink] - features frontman Alex Kapranos, guitarist Nick McCarthy, bassist Bob Hardy and drummer Paul Thomson. This up-and-coming band's sophmore CD is proof that you really can have it much better the second time around!

  • Up until their first concert, the band still didn't have a name. So they asked the audience what they should call themselves and a kid from the crowd shouted out, "Fall Out Boy!" - the name has stuck ever since.
  • From Under the Cork Tree debuted at #9 on the Billboard albums chart.
  • Fall Out Boy is planning three secret shows by the end of 2005 - one on the East Coast, one on the West Coast and one in the Midwest.
  • While most of the song titles are silly and sarcastic, one title wasn't just a goof. The track, Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued, was initially called My Name is David Ruffin and These Are the Temptations, but their lawyer said they would get sued for doing this!
