Ashlee Simpson Interview

By: Sindy

She's had a rough year, but Ashlee Simpson is back in the saddle and ready to tackle the music industry again! Find out what she told Sindy about her new album, boys and her fashion style!

Sindy: First, I just wanted to congratulate you on the release of your second album!
Ashlee Simpson: Oh, thank you so much.

Sindy: So how is it different from your debut album, Autobiography?
Ashlee Simpson: Well, I feel like I'm at a different place in my life and went through a few different things. You know, this year was definitely a year full of highs and lows. So just going into the studio and writing about what I have been going through this year and finding myself, I feel that that is a little bit different on the record. I also have a bit more dance-y songs on this record.

Sindy: Cool. How did you decide on the title, I Am Me?
Ashlee Simpson: I wanted to call it I Am Me because no matter what I go through, I always remain who I am.

Sindy: You co-wrote all the songs on the album. Where did your inspiration come from?
Ashlee Simpson: My inspiration, whenever I write, is just like life experience. Be it a boyfriend, or any situation I go through, I write about.

Sindy: In your first single, Boyfriend, you sing about how you didn't steal someone's boyfriend. Is that based on a real-life incident?
Ashlee Simpson: No. It was just for fun. People have speculations that it's about a certain person, but it's not. It's just a song to have fun and I think every girl has been through that experience.

Sindy: What's your favorite track on the album?
Ashlee Simpson: Ohhhh... Mmmm I like the track Eyes Wide Open. It's a little funny because I thought there was a ghost in my house and everybody thought I was crazy but I wrote a song about it and about being scared.

Sindy: I was just wondering how your whole SNL experience has changed you - and what you have learned from it?
Ashlee Simpson: You know, it was an unfortunate situation that happened but at the end of the day it was cool because I got the second chance to go back. It felt so great redeeming myself. It was just something that was good for me as a person. It was definitely hard when it first happened but to be able to go back and conquer was cool.

Sindy: What can you tell us about your experience filming the movie Undiscovered?
Ashlee Simpson: That was fun. It was like an indie-style movie and my part was shot in two weeks. So it was a lot of work in a short amount of time but it was so much fun. I really enjoyed it. And hopefully I'll continue to do films. I like doing films, especially in that setting, like indie-style. So hopefully I'll do more of that before getting a big role.

Sindy: If you could star in a film with anyone, who would it be?
Ashlee Simpson: Drew Barrymore. I just love her. I think she's adorable, she's so cute. She's just a fun-loving person.

Sindy: Is there an artist you would like to collaborate with musically in the future?
Ashlee Simpson Well, my favorite singer is Aretha Franklin, but obviously that's not going to happen... but she's my favorite.

Here are my top 9 worst TV shows I have ever watched. 1. Breadwinners and Sanjay and Craig (tie) 2. Marvin Marvin 3.  Pickle and Peanut 4 Fred Figglehorn  5. Annoying Orange 6. Austin and Ally 7. Dog on a Blog 8. The Day My Butt Went Psycho (I'm not Canadian but it doesn't look like a good show) 9. Lab Rats  Basically every show that has a laugh track.  If you are looking for a good show, watch Doctor Who. No laugh tracks, humor is used properly, good storyline, DOESN'T take place in a school ALL OF THE TIME (well, it does in some episodes such as school reunion) The cast isn't full of teenagers and parents won't get so annoyed of the show. It's about a 900 year old time lord (who looks like a human) that travels in a TARDIS. He has 13 regenerations and almost always has a female companion with him. He is the last of his species so he's always lonely on Earth.

Plus he said MOST on cartoon Network. Not every show. I have to agree. There is better TV out there... Such as.... *takes deep breath* Doctor Who (Better than ALL of the trash they show on Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and most cartoon network shows combined) Old spongebob (not the new spongebob episodes) Sherlock (hmmm I have never watched the show but i have heard it's awesome) I worship the BBC for making good things happen to the world.
