Mario Tennis: Power Tour: GBA Video Game Review
Courtesy of NintendoThink Venus and Serena are hot stuff? Check out Mario and his mad tennis skills in the new Mario Tennis: Power Tour for the Nintendo GBA! It's a tennis game that lets you create your own future-superstar player and compete against the greatest players in the Mushroom Kingdom to prove your skills. We review it here!
Tennis Moves with Mario
You kick off the main chunk of
Mario Tennis: Power Tour by creating your very own
tennis diva (boy or girl) and diving headfirst into a ton of
games against the
greatest tennis players in the
Mushroom Kingdom. You'll be mastering your game, and learning new moves, as you challenge Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and more all-star players!
Awesome Action in Mario Tennis: Power Tour
The best part of
Mario Tennis: Power Tour is that it's a good game of
tennis. The action is solid, the controls are good and the computer can put up a good fight. There are also
mini-games that
power-up your game with new moves and you can challenge up to four friends to
multiplayer matches by plugging in
link cables.
Crushing Defeat for Mario Tennis: Power Tour
Butt-ugly players are the biggest problem. No, not you! The
graphics for the
tennis players look like someone dipped ‘em in gunk. The opponents are a bit
goofy too. They're usually solid but occasionally they
space out and just stare at the ball as it bounces past ‘em.
Game, Set, Match in Mario Tennis: Power Tour?
If you're looking for a
peanut butter and jam sandwich, go talk to your Mom. If you want a decent
tennis game that you can take anywhere,
Mario Tennis: Power Tour delivers, even with slightly sketchy opponents.
Mario Tennis: Power Tour Thumbs Up:
Four-player multiplayer!
Solid tennis action.
The mini-games power up your skills.
Mario Tennis: Power Tour Thumbs Down:
The players look chunky.
Your opponents are pretty dumb.
