Next Snow Search

Do you have what it takes to be the next great skier or snowboarder? Find out by entering the Next Snow Search.

What Is The Next Snow Search?

The Sports Illustrated For Kids Next Snow Search is a ski and snowboard competition for kids aged nine to 13 from Canada and the United States. Skiers and boarders compete in moguls, halfpipe, big air, slopestyle, rails and other events for a chance to be a member of the Sports Illustrated For Kids Next Snow Team. Winners will also get some sweet gear and bragging rights for being part of the team.

How Do You Enter The Next Snow Search?

Skiers and riders will be judged on style, attitude and sportsmanship, as well as athletic skill. Points will be deducted for acting cocky, mean or generally being a chump. There are no separate classes - everyone competes together. Girls and boys, skiers and snowboarders. Qualifying events will take place at more than 80 resorts across North America, with the top qualifiers advancing to the Finals from March 3 to 5, 2006 in Killington, Vermont. They're throwing each other in the air, performing possibly dangerous stunts, not even mentioning that they have to wear those skimpy outfits in freezing weather.  And also, my sister got a severe head injury and a sprained neck while doing a stunt. That's more injured than i've seen a basketball player get.

So it's not really a sport. It still looks fun though. Actually, cheerleaders do compete. There are cheer competitions.  Agree! 9o9
