Top Ten Teen Movies of All-Time (pg. 2)
The Breakfast Club
#5. Ultimate Teen Movies - Romeo and Juliet (1996)
One of Shakespeare's
classic tales was remade by off-the-wall filmmaker,
Baz Luhrmann. The movie features
Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio as the
star-crossed lovers and has been modernized in look and feel, but has kept all the original
Shakespearean dialogue. If you're being forced to
study Shakespeare this year in English, this flick is a
perfect study aid!
#4. Ultimate Teen Movies - Clueless (1995)
Long before The O.C. or
Laguna Beach, there was Clueless. Cher Horowitz and her spoiled,
Beverly Hills friends rule the school - so when a new girl arrives (
Brittany Murphy), Cher decides they need to take her under their wing and teach her how to
be a diva. This movie has one of the
best soundtracks around and you'll love to check out the horrible,
'90s clothes that were apparently hip at the time!
#3. Ultimate Teen Movies - Sixteen Candles (1984)
Samantha Baker's older sis is
getting married and it's all her family can think about. They're so obsessed with this wedding that they've totally forgotten Sam's
Sweet Sixteen! Can life get any worse? Well, how about if the guy you
have a crush on doesn't know you're alive, but the
dorkiest guy in school is head-over-heels in love with you! Everyone will be
able to relate to this flick about embarrassing families and falling for
your first crush.
#2. Ultimate Teen Movies - Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
It's just the best movie, okay? Gosh! Jon Heder plays
Napoleon Dynamite - a complete
social outcast who comes from a pretty off-the-wall family. This flick is so quirky that you may have to
watch it a few times to really "get it". But even if you don't clue into all the subtle jokes and underlying messages, Napoleon's
dancing, Deb's side ponytails and
Pedro's toupee will keep you in stitches. This is what high school looks like when you're not the
most popular kid in school (something we can all probably relate to).
#1. Ultimate Teen Movies - The Breakfast Club (1985)
What happens when you stick
a jock, a burn-out, a priss,
a nerd and a freak together in detention for
an entire Saturday? This movie is packed with '80s stars like
Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez (who used to be married to
Paula Abdul) and Judd Nelson. The flick follows these bad seeds as they fight,
try to escape and eventually bond, despite their
obvious social differences. Definitely one of the
best teen movies of all-time!
