The Blockbuster Entertainment Awards are almost as cool as the MTV Movie Awards. The show honors achievements in film, music and video games and is voted on by you! Read on for a sneak peek...

This is not just another boring awards show. No way! The Blockbuster Entertainment Awards are usually good - almost as cool as the MTV Movie Awards. The Blockbuster Entertainment Awards show honors achievements in film, music and video games and is voted on by you - the people. The show will air on Fox on Wednesday, April 11 so mark your calendars.

1Lots of hot artists will be performing to keep the show interesting. You can expect bon-bon shaker Ricky Martin to sing his hit song Loaded, Creed will perform Higher and Mystikal will Stutter. Other performances include LeAnn Rimes with Can't Fight the Moonlight from the movie Coyote Ugly.

1Lots of big names will be presenting and attending even if they aren't performing. Presenters include Macy Gray (let's hope she leaves her bathrobe at home), LL Cool J, Joe and Aaliyah. *NSYNC, Kate Hudson and two of Charlie's Angels, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore will be attending.

1The artists who recieved the most nominations are Eminem, *NSYNC and Destiny's Child. Eminem will go head to head against *NSYNC for Favorite CD. Destiny's Child is nominated four times including Favorite Pop Group.

1Other Nominees this year include:Christina, Toni Braxton, Faith Hill, Britney and Madonna who are all competing for Favorite Female Artist. The guys competing for the Favorite Male Artist Award are Dr. Dre, Eminem, Ricky Martin, Kid Rock and Sting. The struggle for Favorite Pop Group is between 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys, Savage Garden, Destiny's Child and of course *NSYNC. On a harder note the battle of the bands for Favorite Rock Group is between Creed, Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Limp Bizkit and Santana.

It included a lot of mature themes and it really connects with today's older youth. You mean violence wise? Not just that, but the show tells the stories of the characters finding themselves. Take Asami for example. A lot of people have a late relative and another relative involved in some kind of trouble. She had her relationships AND family business to take care of, which relates to some of today's youth who feel like they have the whole world on their shoulders. They're starting to have to take responsibility for things they can hardly manage, and seeing the triumph of a character like Asami is truly inspiring. Her mother's dead, her father's in prison, her boyfriend was stolen from her, and her business nearly failed. But she did not give up, which sends a positive message to today's generation of teens. Mako was not stolen from Asami he just chose Korra and everyone knows that thats what people wanted. As messed up as that sounds its the truth.
